Beginners Guide to Low-Income Housing Tax Credit Development + Housing Authority Repositioning

This day-and-a-half session helps housing authority leadership explore HUD’s current repositioning options alongside the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC). Day 1 opens with the full repositioning toolbox — RAD, Section 18, blends, and mixed-finance — so participants know every option on the table, then moves into LIHTC fundamentals: how the credits work, the roles in a typical deal, and how a development budget comes together.

Day 2 completes LIHTC (compliance and investor exit) and closes with modeling exercises that pair each repositioning path with LIHTC to show what works, what doesn’t, and why.
