Director of Real Estate Development – Montgomery, AL

The Montgomery Housing Authority (MHA) is seeking a highly qualified Director of Real Estate Development(DRED) to lead and manage its Public Housing, Low-Income Housing Tax Credit Units, and other new construction properties that total 1187 units. MHA also administer 3073 Housing Choice Vouchers. The agency includes a staff of 66.  MHA is the third largest housing authority in Alabama, the largest affordable housing provider in Montgomery, and is the preferred affordable housing provider in the River Region of Alabama. The DRED reports directly to the President / CEO of MHA.

A Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration / Management, or closely related disciplines is required.  A Master’s degree in these same discipline areas is preferred.  Candidates are expected to have a minimum of seven (7) years of responsible management of real estate investment portfolios, underwriting or finance, and / or real estate asset management / property management. This must include at least five (5) years of management / supervisory experience. The DRED position description can be found on the MHA website at www.mhatoday.org. Compensation for the position is negotiable, depending on the qualifications and experience of the chosen candidate. The salary range is $105,000 to $120,000.
