DEPUTY DIRECTOR

The Housing Authority of the City of Gaffney is currently accepting resumes for the full-time position of Deputy Director. Prefer five (5) years (or more) of experience in the public housing, multi-family, or private rental housing industry; and be a graduate from a fully accredited college with a Bachelor Degree in Business, Public Administration, Social Services or related field.

Acts as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer of the Housing Authority.  Prepares financial documents, payroll, accounts receivables, accounts payable, and serves as benefits administrator. Serves as compliance administrator for the Authority.

The Deputy Director is responsible for overall management of the Housing Authority’s public housing developments, and will be assigned additional duties. Regular duties require the exercise of mature independent judgment, tact in dealing with people, accurate data entry, and the ability to enforce and apply Housing Authority policies and HUD regulations, as well as state and federal laws. Salary is dependent on experience. The applicant must have a valid State of South Carolina vehicle operator’s license (or obtain one within ninety (90) days of employment. The applicant must pass a background check. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities may be considered sufficient.
