The Montgomery Housing Authority (MHA) is seeking a highly qualified Director of Asset Management to lead and manage its eight public housing sites that provide affordable housing for 1400 families. The agency commitment to aggressively renovate and redevelop its housing stock is reflected in the profiles of the eight developments that can be found on the agency website. MHA is the third largest housing authority in Alabama, the largest affordable housing provider in Montgomery, and is the preferred affordable housing provider in the River Region of Alabama. The Director of Asset Management leads and manages a staff of 34 serving the eight Asset Management Projects.
A Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration / management, social sciences or closely related disciplines is required. A Master’s degree in these same discipline areas is preferred. Candidates are expected to have a minimum of eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in low-income housing or leased housing, including a minimum of four (4) years at a supervisory level in public housing, tax-credit housing, apartment management, or local government housing positions. The Public Housing Management Certification must be completed within the first year of employment with passing scores on all subtests regardless of overall scoring. Candidates will be required to provide academic, work history, and salary history verification. The consultant will complete criminal and credit history background checks. Compensation for the position is negotiable, depending on the qualifications and experience of the chosen candidate.
